At Outlookers, we are on a mission to hunt out the best aides to accessibility in the most cost-effective way, to make life for as many as possible quite simply “do-able”. Recently, another free to both download and use app has been introduced.

The app in question, Laundry Lens, uses your phones inbuilt camera to find and identify the wash care labels on your favourite clothing and fabrics. It is now available on both Android and iOS, so no smartphone user is left without.

Once downloaded, the app comes with a very simple and user friendly interface. You have the option to find and scan a care label, a spotlight that can be toggled both on and off and you have a third option called the mode scanner which enables you to set the app to look for a specific wash care symbol. All of which work, in my experience, faultlessly with iOS VoiceOver.
